Holiday Helping Hands
On Friday November 26th, South Pacific Petroleum Corporation will kick-off it’s annual Holiday Helping Hands collection drive. SPPC has sponsored this drive for the past fourteen years, starting in December 1997 immediately after Super Typhoon Paka hit the island.
Exxon, as it was then, started the collection drive for clothing, household goods, non-perishable food and toys to be given away to those who found themselves in temporary shelters and those who lost most of their belongings in the storm.
The drive continues and with the help of Pacific LP Gas, the donations are taken to Catholic Social Services in Barrigada Heights for distribution to the people in need through their programs such as the Alee Shelter and Guma San Jose.
Donations can be dropped off at any 76/Circle K location and for every donation, receive a free 76 t-shirt, while supplies last. The program will run through until December 31, 2010.
